Michel Platini, president of European soccer federation UEFA, will fly to Turkey March 19 to meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and discuss a match-fixing scandal in the Turkish league, Bloomberg reported citing Hurriyet.
Platini and Erdogan are meeting in advance of an UEFA Congress in Istanbul to be held March 22 with the participation of representatives of soccer leagues in 53 countries.
The president of leading Turkish football club Fenerbahce was one of about 30 people arrested in a match-fixing inquiry.
