Paper: Armenia won’t attend Baku-hosted Euronest session

Most likely, Armenian delegation of Euronest will not send any of its members to participate in the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly's plenary session due on April 2-5 in Baku.

According to Zhoghovurd paper, female MPs Naira Zohrabyan and Lilit Galstryan will not go to Baku for security reasons, though European diplomats have pledged to look into the matter.

However, Naira Zohrabyan told the paper she won’t leave for Baku because of her overloaded election schedule.

As to male representatives of the delegation, ARF Dashnaktsutyun member Vahan Hovhannisyan, members of the Republican Party of Armenia Hovhannes Sahakayan, Artak Zakaryan and Sashik Sargsyan have several reasons for their non-participation.

First, the session is scheduled to take place in Baku, which does not guarantee their security, and second, Armenia enters an intense pre-election period.

Sahakyan did not refute the paper’s data saying however that their non-participation is not confirmed finally yet.
