Darchinyan, Yamanaka show 53,5 kg at April 5 weigh-in

Vic ‘The Raging Bull’ Darchinyan will be in search of his 9th world title on April 6 night when he clashes with Japan’s Shinsuke Yamanaka in Tokyo for the WBC Bantamweight title.

Both boxers weighed in at the Bantamweight limit of 118lbs (53.5kg) at April 5 weigh in, Aus-Boxing.com reports.

Yamanaka claimed the title with a knockout victory over Mexican, Christian Esquivelt last November meanwhile Darchinyan will look to return the glory after losing to WBA Bantamweight super champion, Anselmo Moreno late 2011.

“The training is done and I’m ready to dethrone Yamanaka,” said Darchinyan. “Getting a victory in Japan will be a difficult task, except my determination to bring home another world title is driving me like never before. I’m confident that I will be crowned world champion once again.”

The bout will be televised on Main Event PPV on April 11 at 7pm (6 days after the fight).
