INDEPENDENT PUZZLED BY DEMANDS INSURANCE COMPANIES MAKE OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE VICTIMS’ HEIRS

Turkey, aspired for accession to the EU, continues to deny the Armenian Genocide alleging that the people killed at the beginning of the 20-th century were the victims of “tragic events”, Independent British newspaper writes in references to the payments to the heirs of the Armenian Genocide victims, whose lives had been insured by western companies. When speaking of the fact that the insurance companies demand from the heirs of Genocide victims to produce the official death-certificates, the newspaper ironically notes that these companies are probably expecting Turks to issue certificates testifying of their crimes and specify “the place and time of death of every Armenian killed by them”. At that the newspaper establishes that the number of the genocide survivors is decreasing every day. According to the source, 98-year old Armen Keshishian, who died lately in London, was one of those to have survived.
