HOLOCAUST INSTITUTE DIRECTOR CALLED ISRAELI FOREIGN MINISTER TO RECONSIDER ARMENIAN GENOCIDE DENIAL POLICY

I was much ashamed when giving interviews to the Armenian media in Yerevan, where I was asked with pain and amazement how Israel – the homeland of Christ – can deny the Armenian Genocide of 1915, says a letter of editor-in-chief of the Genocide Encyclopedia, Executive Director of Holocaust Institute Israel Charny to Israeli Foreign Minister Sylvan Shalom. It should be reminded that I. Charny was participating in an international conference in Yerevan titled “The Fact of Recognition of the Genocide in Settling Armenian-Turkish Relations.” In his letter the professor cites the words of Armenian journalists that “it would have been more correct for our two nations to struggle against genocide of any peoples shoulder to shoulder.” “We should not have anything in common with nihilism, limitation or refusal to recognize facts of genocide of any other people even if it infringes upon our interests to some extent. Cynicism and manipulation are only departure from our real power,” the Holocaust Institute Director states in his letter.
