ARMENIA AND CUBA SIGNED AGREEMENT ON COMMERCIAL AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION

Armenia and Cuba today signed an agreement on commercial and economic cooperation. As Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian stated at a joint briefing with Cuban foreign minister Felipe Perez Roque being in Yerevan at present, within the framework of the agreement an intergovernmental commission to contribute to the development of economic cooperation between the two countries will be formed. As noted by him, “Arka” agency reports, that in Soviet times certain commercial relations were established between Armenia and Cuba on importing and exporting goods, and the cooperation can be restored. “The commission formed will let develop the priority directions of cooperation and will be a means for activation of commercial relations within different branches,” – V. Oskanian said. The minister also noted that in the course of the Cuban delegation’s visit the parties also discussed issues of developing relations between the two countries within international structures. In his words, regional problems and relations with countries of the region were also concerned.
