The settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will be the main topic at the meeting of French and Azeri Presidents Jacques Chirac and Ilham Aliyev to be held within the framework of I. Aliyev’s coming visit to Paris September 7-9. It was stated by Azeri Ambassador to France E. Guseynova. Commenting on the coming visit of the Azeri President, well-known Azeri political scientist Rasim Musabekov said he supposes that before the coming talks in Astana I. Aliyev may try to make clear some details in the course of the meeting with the French President. “J. Chirac along with V. Putin has certain opportunities to influence the Armenian leadership. The use of the political potential of the President of France may seem efficient to I. Aliyev. However, it should be noted that such meetings did not produce an effect before,” Musabekov summed up.
