EQUATO-GUINEAN INVESTIGATORS ARRIVED IN YEREVAN

Investigators of the Equatorial Guinea have arrived in Yerevan to examine the connection of 6 Armenian pilots with the attempt of a coup d’etat in that country. As reported by Franspress, the African investigators are first of all interested in the contract between the Armenian and the German companies. It should be reminded that the Armenian pilots assert they are not implicated in the attempt of the coup d’etat. They had worked in the Equatorial Guinea from January to March, 2004 (until they were arrested) and performed only one flight by the order of a South-African businessman, who is accused of plotting the coup and who is threatened with death penalty. It should be noted that the German company was represented in Malabo by Gerhard Merz, who died from malaria according to official reports, while human rights advocates assure he died from torture.
