LITURGY IN MEMORY OF BESLAN VICTIMS CHANTED IN YEREVAN

The whole world should unite in the struggle against the evil called terrorism, Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II stated during the liturgy chanted in Grigor Lusavorich Church in memory of the victims of the tragic events in the Northern Ossetian town of Beslan. In his turn Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Artur Baghdasarian, who was also present at the rite, emphasized that the terrorist act in Beslan obliges nations to unite in the struggle against this evil. Russia’s Ambassador to Armenia Anatoly Dryukov expressed his gratitude for the condolences and noted that terrorists pursued the objective of disseminating hostility among the Caucasian people and stir up war. RA Prime Minister Andranik Margarian was also present at service, on completion of which students marched toward to the Russian Embassy to express solidarity with the Russian people.
