AZERI PARLIAMENT DEPUTY PROPOSED CONCLUDING MILITARY ALLIANCE WITH TURKEY AND PAKISTAN TO BALANCE “MILITARY UNION OF RUSSIA, ARMENIA AND IRAN”

At the sitting of Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan pro-authority deputy Mais Safarli stated “Azerbaijan needs to conclude a military alliance with Turkey and Pakistan.” This proposal was made in the course of the ratification of the agreements, signed with Pakistan in July. In his words, “the alliance will withstand the already existing military union of Russia, Armenia and Iran.” “If we create such an alliance, our positions in the region will strengthen even more,” the deputy said. As reported by Regnum news agency, the leadership of the Azeri Parliament has not responded to the deputy’s proposal in any way.
