BAKU-TBILISI-CEYHAN OIL PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION TO BE FINISHED BY LATE OCTOBER DESPITE PROBLEMS WITH GEORGIA’S POPULATION

Despite the problems with the residents of the Borzhomi and Akhalkalaki regions of Georgia, representative of BP Company engaged in Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline building David Woodword stated that the construction of the pipeline through the territory of Georgia will be finished for most part by the end of October. In his opinion neither the discontent of the population, nor the Georgian-Ossetian conflict can somehow influence the construction works. At the same time, the population of the Borzhomi and Akhalkalaki regions making attempts to ban the oil pipeline building is not ruled out.
