Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian received the joint delegation of subcommittees of the Security of Civil Development Commission and Political Commission of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. As reported by the Armenian leader’s press service, the President expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Armenia and the NATO, noting that the country takes part in a number of programs of the Alliance. By the parliamentarians’ request the Armenian President commented on a number of issues, in part, referring to the Armenian-Turkish relations, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, regional cooperation, military reforms and Armenian peacekeepers’ activities. Touching upon the regional cooperation, Robert Kocharian stated that it can create favorable conditions for conflict resolution and that Armenia has many times put forward the idea of “settling conflicts by means of cooperation”, which is however rejected by Azerbaijan. To note, the parties marked the meeting as useful and efficient.
