The settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh problem depends on the parties of conflict, stated European Commission President Romano Prodi at a meeting with the teaching staff and students of Baku State University. To note, R. Prodi had arrived in the Azeri capital within the framework of a regional visit to the South Caucasian countries. In his words, the EU comes for peaceful settlement of the problem. Such conflicts as the Karabakh one were also available in individual countries of the European Union, R. Prodi noted. “They were settled not via military means, but within the framework of economic reforms,” he emphasized. It should be noted that after Baku the European Commission President will leave for Tbilisi, and then will visit Yerevan.
