CYPRUS CAN USE VETO ON TURKEY’S ACCESSION TO EU

Cyprus can take the right of vetoing the start of negotiations on Turkey’s admission to the European Union during the EU upcoming summit to be held in Copenhagen on December 17, Cypriot President Tasos Papandopoulos stated. Before the visit to the European states he told the journalists that if Turkey does not fulfill the commitments to the EU on the Cypriot issue, the country will exercise a veto.
