PUTIN: RUSSIA TO CONTINUE ACTIVE PEACEMAKING AND TALKS IN CAUCASUS

To solve problems in the Caucasus Russia intends to continue active peacemaking and talks, Russian President Vladimir Putting stated when addressing the congress of Azerbaijanis of Russia yesterday, Turan news agency reported. “Russia and Azerbaijan closely cooperate to unravel the interweaving of complex and knotty contradictions in the Caucasus. Russia is interested in peaceful and sustainable development of the region,” the Russian leader stated. It should be noted that yesterday V. Putin had a meeting with I. Aliyev, at which the Azeri President stated: “We hope that Russia will further make efforts to resolve the Karabakh conflict, both as our neighbor and as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.” In his turn, V. Putin reminded of the latest meeting the Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. I am sure, that today we can discuss one of most acute problems of the Caucasus – the Karabakh problem – with ease, the Russian leader said.
