GEORGIAN PRESIDENT INDEBTED TO JAVAKHETIA POPULATION

“I owe a debt of gratitude to the population of Javakhetia, who rendered me active support during the presidential elections”, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili stated at the joint briefing with Armenian President Robert Kocharian in Tbilisi. Speaking about the region, for most part inhabited by Armenians, the Georgian leader stated that its residents should have economic and transport possibility of integration into the Georgian society at the same time preserving communication with Armenian boundary regions. When commenting on the Armenian-Georgian border the Georgian President noted jokingly that in the course of 2000 years Armenia and Georgia have not had any territorial dispute. As Robert Kocharian stated in his turn, the issue of delimitation of the Armenian-Georgian border can be finally settled in 2005. The Armenian leader noted that there do not exist any painful questions, which could bring to serious controversies.
