SUSAN SACHS ARRIVED IN ARMENIA KNOWING BEFOREHAND WHAT SHE IS GOING TO WRITE

The Armenian organizer of New York Times journalist Susan Sachs’ trip “states that she has not foreseen what would the intercourse, which at first seemed so harmless, turn into: “…you cannot carp, but you understand that the woman has turned everything into one channel… she arrived already knowing what she was going to write and gathered only statements, confirming her position in Armenia.” Karen Vrtanesian known as the creator and administrator of armenianhouse.org popular Internet resource writes about it in an article published in the Golos Armenii newspaper today. In the article Karen, who has lived in the US for a long time, also reports that some interesting details of the biography of Sachs, who is the head of the New York Times Istanbul section today.
“She is one of the authors of the World Security Network Foundation- an organization, which aims at “attraction of attention to potential conflicts in the world.” One can arrive at conclusions on the Foundation activities based on the names of the persons, who participate in its activities, the article author writes. These specifically include “Chairman of most influential RAND Corporation James Tompson, as well as Ahmed Zakayev.” Thus, it is difficult to suspect Susan in being unprofessional, K. Vrtanesian concludes. He also reminds the words of Armenian students – the participants of the interview, whose names are published in S. Sachs’ article – who say that their words were intentionally distorted (PanARMENIAN Net has already reported about it).
By the way, the fate of Karen Vrtanesian himself is very interesting and can serve as a denial of the New York Times article. After moving in the US in 2000 and living a stable life there, Karen returned in Armenia for permanent residence early this year.
