The portrait, which was given as a gift to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, welcomes each person, who crosses the threshold of the temple of his memory . Painter Nikas Sofronov could reflect the sparkles of knowledge and glitter of intellectual curiosity… This was an extract from an article in an Azeri newspaper dedicated to the first anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s decease. These lines testify that the ideas of Chuchkhe are alive and win in independent Azerbaijan. Despite the fact that the ideas of Chuchkhe arose in North Korea, this international phenomenon exceeded the borders of its historical habitat. To maintain the good cheer of our readers we offer some extracts by our Azeri colleagues. “Two young men from Lenkaran (a town in Azerbaijan), the residents of Heydar Aliyev Street, made a long way on foot to revere the memory of the national leader. Doctor of technical sciences Akif Rzayev and his friends went out of the park named after the great leader and directed their steps to Baku to pay their deepest respect to the memory of the Ex-President. “We came to demonstrate our boundless love to the architect and rescuer of independent Azerbaijan, the wise political figure, national leader of our people”, “Azerbaijan”, the appendix to Izvestia Russian newspaper, writes. The same source informs that “all the photos show that any clothes suited him perfectly. The story of his life recorded in the documents, which are kept in the archives of the foundation, says that he could be a brilliant historian, architect and actor”. And the last but not least: “he could also be a brilliant military” let us note only because “he looked great dressed in a general’s uniform”. And the people, who wrote these lines, hope that the Armenians of Karabakh should strive for returning in the bosom of the everlasting ideas of Chuchkhe.
