IF TURKEY WISHES TO BE EU MEMBER SHE SHOULD RECONCILE WITH HISTORICAL FACTS, JEAN LOUIS DEBRE STATED

On the eve of his visit to Turkey President of the French National Assembly Jean Louis Debre told Zaman Turkish daily that “for becoming a EU member Turkey should pay tribute to memory and reconcile herself with the historical facts. When responding to the question whether the Armenian issue hinders the development of the Turkish-French relationships, he said that the Armenian issue does not sort with the Turkish-French relationships but concerns the Turkish-Armenian relations, particularly, Turkey’s own history.
