AZERBAIJAN INDIGNANT AT VLADIMIR ZHIRINOVSKY STATEMENT OVER KARABAKH

Azerbaijan is indignant at the statement of Vice-Speaker of the Russian State Duma Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who has suggested Nagorno Karabakh accession to the CIS and has called it a historical part of Armenia. Thereupon Milli Mejlis Deputy Mais Safarli stated that official Baku should ban Vladimir Zhirinovsky entry to Azerbaijan. At the same time the head of the Azeri Foreign Ministry Press Service noted that “Zhirinovsky’s statements should not have an impact either on the stand of Russia, which recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, or on the RF activities as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair.”
