WORLD CONGRESS OF CHURCHES CALLED TO HOLD ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION SERVICE IN ALL CHURCHES

During the sitting of the Central Board of the World Congress of Churches Archbishop of the Austrian Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Illarion Alfeyev offered to appeal to all the Churches-members of the WCC to hold a service in memory of the Armenian Genocide victims. The suggestion has been accepted. “The way to justice and reconciliation lies through the confessing of the committed crime to cure remembrances and be pardoned”, the statement says.
