Ahead of match vs. Armenia, Italy captain Gianluigi Buffon voiced hopes that young players will grow quickly on a technical level.
"We are trying to carry out a project with fresh faces and young players who are being given a chance on the biggest of stages. Hopefully these players will grow quickly on a technical level, because Brazil 2014 is not so far away. We must try hard to gain entry to World Cup 2014," he continued.
"We all know Mario's value. We expect him to produce the quality he is capable of on the field, and help us win games. He has that ability,” goal.com quoted Buffon as saying.
Armenia vs. Italy World Cup 2014 qualifier is scheduled for October 12, at Yerevan’s Hrazdan stadium.
