DESTABILIZATION OF SITUATION IN ARMENIA ABSOLUTELY UNFAVORABLE FOR RUSSIA, MOSCOW CONSIDERS

Destabilization of situation in Armenia is absolutely unfavorable for Russia. Well-known Russian political scientist, member of the presidium of foreign and defense policy of Russia Vitaly Tretyakov told a First Russian channel program. In his words, it may automatically attract the attention of those “who continue cutting out the map of the world in a new fashion” to the Caucasus. Vitaly Tretyakov considers that being clutched between Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan, Christian Armenia is a strategic regional outpost for Russia and Europe. Tretyakov noted that Georgia and Azerbaijan having outlets to the Black and Caspian Seas were also of great strategic importance to Russia. However, taking into consideration the relations with these countries, Armenia is the most stable partner of Russia.
