KANSAS STATE ACKNOWLEDGED AREMNAIN GENOCIDE

Over the 90-th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide Governor of Kansas US state Kathleen Sebelius has accepted the statement on acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide, reported the Armenian National Committee (ANCA) Washington Office. Thus Kansas is the 38-th US state that has acknowledged the Armenian Genocide. «Armenian Americans appreciate the efforts of Governor Kathleen Sebelius in Kansas joining the states that have acknowledged the Genocide,» stated ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian. The Governor has announced April 24, 2005 the Commemoration Day of the Genocide victims. «April 24 is marked as the 90-th anniversary of the genocide and deportation of a large number of Armenians,» the statement says. It also notes that Kansas it grateful to Armenian Americans for their contribution to diverse fields of the life of the state.
