ALMA to host Houshamadyan Project presentation

Houshamadyan Project Coordinator Nora Lessersohn will give a visual presentation and discuss the undertakings, goals, and philosophy of the project at the Armenian Library and Museum of America on Thursday, Nov 15.

The Houshamadyan project is a unique effort to reconstruct the lost world of Armenian communities in the Ottoman Empire. A historical and cultural initiative based in Berlin, Germany, the Houshamadyan project plays an important role in recovering the daily life, customs, traditions, cuisine, and environs of the Ottoman Armenian communities through scholarly analysis, documentation and the reproduction of historical images.

Nora Lessersohn is the Annual Giving and Alumni Relations Coordinator at the Harvard Divinity School. She is currently a student in Harvard's Museum Studies program, and serves as a Researcher and Project Coordinator for the Houshamadyan project. A graduate of Harvard College where she majored in the Study of Religion, she previously worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.
