Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office has completed the investigation into criminal charges against Karen Avanesyan, a 58-year-old Armenian from Stepanakert. Authorities claim he attempted a terrorist act in the city center on September 14, allegedly timed with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit.
According to official statements, police officers were injured during the incident. Avanesyan has been charged under seven separate articles of Azerbaijan’s Criminal Code.
The trial is set to be held in Ganja, though the date of the court proceedings has not yet been announced.
