Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department, visited NATO headquarters in Brussels, where he discussed the ongoing peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan, APA reports.
Hajiyev held meetings with ambassadors from NATO member countries and with Boris Ruge, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political and Security Affairs.
The discussions also touched on the recent visit of North Atlantic Council representatives to Azerbaijan.
On August 8, a trilateral meeting was held at the White House between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, resulting in a joint declaration.
At the same event, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in the presence of the three leaders, pre-signed an agreement “On the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
