The US always supported the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, US Department of State’s Senior Adviser For Eurasia, OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair Steven Mann stated when commenting on the question whether the Karabakh conflict can jeopardize the functioning of the Baku-Tbili-Ceyhan oil pipeline. In his words, the implementation of the BTC project is possible in the period when peaceful negotiations are being held. “It is important to preserve the 11-year armistice. The companies that made investments into the project can better say how dangerous the conflict is. However over $4 billion invested into the project is an index of trust and secure functioning of the pipeline”, he said.
