Armenian grandmaster Hrant Melkumyan beat Scotland’s John Shaw in the third round of London Chess Classic FIDE Open.
Melkumyan scored 4 points to share 1st-2nd places with England’s Zhou Yang-Fan. He will face off against Yang-Fan in the 5th round.
The tournament will run through December 8, with the winner to receive 2500 pounds.
