Swedish diplomat urges for peaceful settlement of Karabakh issue

Unresolved conflicts, including the Nagorno Karabakh problem continue undermining the common security, head of the Swedish delegation said.

As Björn Lyrvall noted at Dublin-hosted OSCE ministerial council meeting, any frozen and unresolved conflict may evolve into an open war in future. The diplomat further stressed the need for peaceful settlement of the problem.

Earlier, OSCE Deputy Spokesperson Frane Maroevic expressed the organization’s concerns over the settlement of Karabakh problem.

According to him, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ireland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Eamon Gilmore repeatedly conveyed the institution’s readiness to support Minsk Group’s efforts.
