ARMENIAN PILOTS HELD HONOR OF ARMENIA IN GUINEAN PRISON

The Armenian pilots behaved in a worthy manner and did not break down in the Guinean prison, representative of the President of the World Armenian Congress Andranik Migranian stated at today’s press conference dedicated to the release of 6 Armenian pilots from jail in Equatorial Guinea. In his words, the authorities of Equatorial Guinea did not feel hostility towards the Armenian pilots. In his turn, pilot-in-command Ashot Karapetian thanked all and particularly Ara Abrahamian for saving their lives. “We highly held the honor of Armenia and did nothing to aggravate the accusation that was groundless”, he said. He noted that the Guinean authorities did not care of the prisoners at all. Only thanks to the financial support rendered by Ara Abrahamian the pilots did not starve and managed to get necessary medicine. Yet they received a minor part of the money. Ashot Karapetian also noted that the prison administration often turned to them with various requests like to repair a car or solve problems with electricity.
