Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan met with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Thailand Bhokin Bhalakula reported the Press Service of the Armenian Government. In the course of the meeting A. Margaryan remarked Armenia highlights intensification of cooperation with Thailand, considering the country the threshold of the South-Eastern Asia. The parties noted that the relations between Armenia and Thailand are determined not only by economic ones, but also by political dialogue and the legislative bodies of the two countries are an important stimulating factor for intensification of political relations. The interlocutors also mentioned that in spite of a small number of members the Armenian community in Thailand is an opportunity for strengthening relations. The parties noted they intend to sign an agreement on ruling out double taxation of profits and property, as well as in the agricultural sphere as a confirmation of development of cooperation between Armenia and Thailand. In his turn Bhokin Bhalakula assured the interlocutor that he will do his best for the agreements to be ratified as soon as possible. In the course of the meeting the parties acquainted each other with the course of constitutional reforms in their countries. A delegation of MPs of Armenia is scheduled to visit Thailand in autumn. The joint amendment of the legislation will provide a new opportunity for bilateral economic cooperation, will form efficient legal ways for development of both state and private cooperation. This will also be promoted by the opening of commercial and economic representations in Armenia and Thailand, as well as organizing an exhibition of Armenian production in Thailand this September and then that of Thai produce in Armenia. Today the Armenian delegation returned home.
