TURKISH PRESS DOMINATED BY ANTI-ARMENIAN SPIRITS

Out of the 237 articles about Armenia and Armenians published in the Turkish press within January 2003, 124 displayed negative attitudes towards Armenians. As reported by “Arminfo” agency, one can arrive at such a conclusion after having studied the January report of the Armenian Patriarchy of Turkey. According to the report data, most anti-Armenian articles refer to the issues of the Armenian Genocide, Karabakh conflict, history. The Patriarchy report also notes that within January all Turkish channels provided a total of 24 broadcast minutes for programs devoted to the Armenians residing in the country.
