ANCA-Hollywood to host financial aid seminar

Armenian National Committee of American – Hollywood (ANCA-Hollywood) is hosting a financial aid seminar on Saturday, March 23, Asbarez reported.

The seminar will take place at the Armenian Youth Center in Hollywood, California. The event is the first in a series of forums for its Path to College program.

This seminar is meant to help high school juniors and seniors navigate the vast array of financial aid options and opportunities available, from grants, to scholarships, to loans. The speakers, including Assistant Director of Financial Aid at USC Andrea Zuniga, will discuss how the system works, what your options are, and how to maximize the aid that can be received.

College is an important component for the Armenian community in Los Angeles. “The cost of attending institutions of higher education is continuously on the rise,” says ANCA-Hollywood Board Member, Varty Defterderian, “and it is vital that every individual have the opportunity to go to college and not be left behind due to the cost of attendance.”

ANCA-Hollywood advances the social, economic, cultural, and political rights of the area’s Armenian American community and promotes increased Armenian American civic participation at the grassroots and public policy levels.
