Pamuk: They Try to Make Me Silent

Famous Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk, who is accused of recognition of the Armenian Genocide and will appear before a Turkish court shortly, said they «try to make him silent.» «They want to rub my nose into dirt, but I will keep saying the truth,» the writer said in an interview with NTV Turkish channel. He called absurd bringing actions against him, as he had devoted his life to the Turkish culture. Dutch State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Atzo Nikolai earlier stated his county attentively follows developments concerning Orhan Pamuk. «The EU should do everything not to admit shutting up mouths of Pamuk and people like him in Turkey,» the Dutch diplomat stated.
