October 22 the foundation of the Armenian Church of St. George Enlightener was consecrated in Rostov-on-Don, Yerkramas, the newspaper of Armenians of Russia reported. The ceremony was held with participation of officials including administration head Mikhail Chernyshev. Head of the Russian and Nor-Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Yezras Nersesyan also arrived from Moscow on the occasion. The sketch plan of the Church was ratified by the town-planning of Rostov-on-Don about a year ago. The building maintains traditional Armenian style. The front will be made of stone and the roof will be coppery. Besides some household constructions and a parking lot are planned. About 200 people will have the possibility to pray in the new Church at the same time.
