Armenian Elected Deputy of Krasnodar Town Duma

The election to the Krasnodar town duma of the fourth convocation was held October 23, reported Yerkramas, the newspaper of Armenians of Russia. The election was declared valid in 41 out of 42 constituencies. The victory of Vladimir Maranyan, the head physician of the town polyclinic N10 can be rated as sensational result. To note, it is for the fist time during the post-soviet period when an Armenian has been a town parliament deputy. V. Manaryan was not the favorite in the constituency, where the analysts foretold the victory of United Russia member, Director General of Yugenergo Managing Company Ltd. Georgy Sultanov. The community of Krasnodar anchored hopes with another compatriot, head of the Krasnodar central department of the Union of Armenians of Russia Gurgen Ivanyan. However G. Inavyan was the third only.
