Armenian Church Established Special Scholarship Fund

On the initiative of one of the parishioners of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC), who wished to remain unknown, the AAC Diocese of the South of Russia has established a special scholarship fund after St. Sahak and Mashtots, Yerkramas, the newspaper of Armenians of Russia reported. The fund has the purpose to encourage the students of higher and vocational education institutions, who show active interest in the public life and maintain permanent ties with the Armenian Apostolic Church. The fund constitutors hope to raise the educational and spiritual level of the youth living within the bounds of the Armenian Apostolic Church Diocese of the South of Russia. The first laureates of the fund will be announced on October 30, 2005 after the Saint Liturgy in the Church of St. John Evangelist in the town of Krasnodar.
