Official delegation of Sverdlovsk region has arrived in Yerevan within the Year of Russia in Armenia, reported the Press Service of the Sverdlovsk Governor. This is the second trip of Sverdlovsk representatives. The first delegation was led by Governor Eduard Rossel and their trip was marked with the circumstance that it was followed by an important political event for both countries – Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Armenia. New phase of Russian-Armenian interaction had commenced. The emphasis had shifted from the capital’s diplomatic missions to regions – to cooperation of specific enterprises, to scientific research, student auditoriums, creative teams and sport grounds. Sverdlovsk region was among pioneers in arranging that mutually favorable partnership. During a conversation with Armenian President Robert Kocharian, the Governor suggested an idea to hold Sverdlovsk Region Culture Days in Armenia. Then the proposal was again made, when Ural residents hosted the Armenian delegation led by Governor of Ararat Region Alik Sargsyan.
The Middle Ural official delegation comprises Minister of Culture Natalya Vetrova, Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations Victor Koksharov, Ural State Mining University Rector Nikolay Kosarev, Sverdlovsk State Academic Theater of Musical Comedy director Mikhail Safronov, Chairman of ANI-Armenia regional NGO Masis Nazaryan. The visit program includes meetings in the Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs, as well as that with Russian Ambassador Nikolay Pavlov, a joint session of working groups to work out bilateral Agreement on Cooperation in Economic, Scientific, Technical and other fields, a visit to Ararat region, as well as those to a number of enterprises, higher education institutions, a Russian school, museums, historical and memorable sights, reported Itar-Tass.
