The first genocide of the 20th century was organized and masterminded by the Young Turks, Ukraine public figure said.
“No doubt, Azeri-led mass killings, beatings and rape of Armenians in Sumgait and Baku are termed as acts of genocide. For this reason, organizers and perpetrators of these acts must be kept accountable as international criminals. The recognition of the Armenian Genocide plays a significant role not only for Armenians, but also for the whole world as to the prevention of the reoccurrence of the crime,” Irina Skazina said.
