Constitutional Referendum: Exit Polls Conducted in Armenia for First Time

Efficient Policy Foundation NGO is conducting exit polls during the constitutional referendum held in Armenia today. It should be noted that this is an Armenian organization and has no connection with the Gleb Pavlovsky’s Foundation and the coincidence of names is accidental. To remind, the exit polls in Armenia are conducted for the first time.

Meanwhile the press office of the united opposition had no information on the exit polls. The center has already received calls on various violations, however no precise data was furnished.

1878 polling stations throughout the republic as well as 44 polling stations in 40 cities of 28 states (totally 1922 stations) opened this morning. High turnout is a necessary condition for the adoption of the constitutional amendments. To pass they need to be backed by at least one third of all eligible voters, which makes 767 000 votes out of the total number of 2 301 828. PACE is the only international organization observing the referendum. Let us remind that the Armenian opposition is boycotting the constitutional referendum. A number of opposition parties have launched protest actions on November 25. Today at noon the oppositionists are going to hold a rally the outcome of which fully depends on the number of supporters, who gathered at the Liberty Square, reported IA Regnum
