Polling stations close in Armenia at 8:00 p.m. According to the data provided by the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Armenia, as of 5:00 p.m. local time 268 679 persons have taken part in the constitutional referendum in the Armenian capital, i.e. 35.9%. As of 5:00, according to the CEC, 1 million 26 thousand 300 persons have taken part in the constitutional referendum, which makes 44.6% of the total number of those having suffrage. At the moment the district election commissions begin summing up the results, which will last 12 hours. In 18 hours district election commissions will submit the data to the CEC, which will publish the referendum returns in 28 hours after the completion of the vote.
It should also be noted that the number of polling stations in Armenia totals 1878, while there are 44 stations in forty cities of 28 countries, making the overall number 1922. For the referendum to be recognized as taken place it is necessary that 767 thousand persons take part in it. This number makes 1/3 of the total number of constituency in Armenia (i.e. 2 301 828).
