KLO not Allowed to Hold Protest Action in front of French and US Embassies in Baku

November 30 a group of activists of Azeri Karabakh Liberation Organization (KLO) tried to hold a protest action in front of the French Embassy in Azerbaijan. Organization activists approached the Embassy building, however police officers did not let them hold the measure. The action participants started throwing eggs on the Embassy doors and windows. A collision took place between action participants and the police. 3 action participants – KLO First Vice-Chairman Firudin Memedov, Chairman of the KLO Youth Council Mursal Hasanov and Neymat Hagverdiyev were arrested. The police did not admit submitting a resolution of the action to the Embassy. KLO activists were pushed away from the Embassy building within a few minutes and the public order was restored.

1:00 p.m. the same day another group of KLO activists tried to hold a protest action in front of the US Embassy in Baku. Activists came close to the Embassy building, however police officers intervened, which resulted in a clash. One of the action participants was arrested. Nevertheless, the participants managed to pass a resolution to Embassy representatives. The KLO holds series of actions in protest against Californian Montebello becoming a twin city of Stepanakert. KLO activists urge the US, France and Russia as Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group «not to have a biased stand, conflicting with Azerbaijan’s national interests,» reported Trend agency.
