PACE Karabakh Subcommittee to Meet in Paris Today

The recurrent meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Subcommittee on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will be held in Paris today. During the meeting Subcommittee Chair Lord Russell-Johnston will present a report, provided for by item 5 of resolution 1416 adopted in January 2005. “The item 5 says an annual report on the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group member countries should be presented within a year,” state head of the Armenian delegation to the PACE, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Tigran Torosyan. In his words, it is not an ordinary report, as it is represented by the PA. There will be no resolution draft or proposals, in his words, and the report will not be another PACE document. As of the report content, T. Torosyan remarked the document comprised the facts, presented during the September session of the PACE Subcommittee, in which the OSCE MG Co-Chairs also took part. “The basic important moment of that session is that the Subcommittee has to finally form its point of view on further steps over settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict,” T. Torosyan remarked, reported RFE/RL.
