ICG: Russia and Turkey Should Not Take Part in Peacekeeping Mission in Karabakh

In the opinion of the Caucasus Project Director for the International Crisis Group Sabine Freizer, representatives of countries co-chairing the OSCE Minsk Group, as well as countries of the region – i.e. Russia and Turkey – should not be included in the peacekeeping missions in Nagorno Karabakh. She did not rule out EU interest towards the peacekeeping mission in the zone of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. In S. Freizer’s opinion, Armenia should be ready «to return territories and to uncertainty of Karabakh’s status.» Then the biggest compromise by Azerbaijan should be the determination of the Nagorno Karabakh status. «Official Baku should be ready to any options,» Freizer stated, reported RFE/RL.
