Karabakh Settlement among OSCE Priority Tasks in 2006

The resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will become a priority task to the OSCE in 2006, stated Karel de Gucht, the Foreign Minister of Belgium. De Gucht noted that he plans to visit Azerbaijan and Armenia in late January. During the visit he intends to set up talks on the peaceful settlement of the conflict. The Belgian FM hopes that an agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia will be achieved this year. De Gucht
Reminded that during the OSCE ministerial meeting in Ljubljana past December it was noted that “time has come for decision-making” in the NK issue.

After the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2005 the general political situation has become improved, which promoted the negotiations over Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Karel de Gucht stated, reported RBK.
