Oskanian and Mammadyarov will not Discuss Karabakh Draft Agreement in London

The draft agreement on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will not be discussed either at the London meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers or at the meeting of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, the OSCE MG Russian Co-Chairman Yuri Merzlyakov stated. Speaking of the forthcoming meeting on 18-19 January in London the diplomat said debating of issues which had been held earlier and are not agreed upon so far will be continued. According to him, the draft agreement on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict may be arranged only in case the accord on the basic principles is achieved. «What to write the document for, when the sides have not coordinated some major issues”, Merzlyakov added.

Along with this, according to him, the matter will not concern “some proposals, on concrete wordings of specific issue” at the consultations. «Undoubtedly, the forthcoming meeting of the presidents will be the point. Some issues will be discussed at the meeting, there will be attempts to clarify them and to solve. We consider it actually as preparation for the presidents’ next meeting,” Merzlyakov said. He added the date and venue of the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents’ next meeting scheduled for February will be known after this meeting, reported Trend agency.
