EU Special Representative for South Caucasus Completing Mission in Region

EU Special Representative for South Caucasus Heikki Talvitie is completing his mission in region. As Talvitie stated in Tbilisi, his main task is fulfilled «the EU has fully supported Georgia’s course and expressed interest in peaceful settlement of the conflict». In his
words, the EU has fully supported the peace plan worked out by Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili. «I believe that on the basis of that document it is possible to settle conflicts taking into account interests of all parties,» Talvitie said. The new EU Special Representative
for South Caucasus will be known next week. «Candidacies of 5 high rank diplomats are considered at the moment,» he said, reported Prime News.
