New damages of Mozdok-Tbilisi gas pipeline are found and these require substituting another 9-meter part of the pipe. It is not known yet how long will it take to eliminate the newly found damage. Meanwhile, the repair of the damaged reserve pipe continues. Gazprom has decided to conserve the damaged part of the branch of the gas pipeline. The 700 cm pipe is already connected from Georgia’s side. The workers will continue their work Thursday.

In general, according to preliminary assessment, the loss from the gas pipeline explosion makes 30 million rubles. Meanwhile, gas supplies to some Tbilisi residential areas have been stopped. However, yesterday natural gas supplies from Azerbaijan decreased significantly, which is conditioned by technical causes, reported Itar-Tass.On the night of Sunday explosions took place at the gas pipeline in North Ossetia. Explosive assemblies of 700-800 grams in trotyl equivalent exploded with an intermission of 20 minutes on the main and reserve branches of North Caucasus-Transcaucasia gas pipeline. The Prosecutor’s Office of Russia believe it was a sabotage. Georgia now receives Russian gas through Azerbaijan and Gazprom has increased the volume of supplies there, while Armenia is using the reserves of the Abovyan underground gas storage.
