5th anniversary of France’s adoption of law recognizing the Armenian Genocide marked in Marseilles January 29, reported the Press Service of the MFA of Armenia. Armenian Ambassador to France Edvard Nalbandyan, French MPs, senators, state figures and politicians, leaders of Armenian organizations of France took part in the event. In his speech the Armenian Ambassador emphasized the urgency of the law on recognition of the Armenian Genocide in respect that during the past 5 years the denial of the Genocide has not decreased and acquired new forms. «The Genocide is not a mere historical event that can be taken as subject for study by historians, but also a crime against humanity and it has no time limitation. The humanity should use all available mean, including the power of the law, to denounce that crime and prevent any opportunity of its repetition,» Edvard Nalbandyan stated.
